Artists in Schools
Artists in Schools
Artists in Schools is the core programme of the association Až po uši. It supports the development of a new curricular area in elementary education – Arts and Culture.
Arts and Culture in Schools
Since the 19th century, Czech schools have traditionally focused only on music education and visual arts education. The newly introduced curricular area Arts and Culture in the national curriculum places drama education, dance and movement education, and audiovisual education on an equal footing. Až po uši brings this concept directly into classrooms and demonstrates how artistic disciplines can be meaningfully integrated in practice.
Art – as a Key to Integrated Learning
Arts education through visual, dramatic, musical, movement-based and audiovisual activities offers a powerful means of integrating school subjects while fostering creativity and deep understanding of learning content. Pupils discover connections between language education, natural sciences, mathematics and history. Art thus becomes not an isolated subject, but a tool for multilayered, integrated learning.
Artists in Schools – Discover the Joy of Creation
We bring trained professional artists into schools, where they collaborate closely with teachers and inspire children to explore their own creative potential. The programme supports creativity, self-confidence, mental well-being and the joy of making, helping pupils develop transferable skills they can use at school and throughout life.
