Artists in Schools
Artists in Schools
Artists in Schools is the core activity of the association Up to Our Ears, which develops this program to support a new curricular area in primary schools – Arts and Culture.
Arts and Culture in Schools
Since the 19th century, Czech schools have taught only Music and Visual arts. The new field Arts and Culture in the national curriculum places drama, dance/ movement, and audiovisual education on an equal footing. Up to Our Ears brings this concept directly into the classroom and shows how all artistic disciplines can be connected in practice.
Art – a Key to Integrating Learning
Teaching through visual, dramatic, musical, movement, and audiovisual activities offers a way to connect different school subjects and supports creativity and understanding. It helps pupils discover links between language, natural sciences, mathematics, and history. Art thus becomes not an isolated discipline, but a tool for multilayered, integrated learning.
Artists in Schools – Discover the Joy of Creating
We bring trained professional artists into arts classes, where they collaborate with teachers and inspire children to discover their own creative potential. The program supports creativity, self-confidence, mental health, and the joy of making, helping children develop skills they can use at school and in life.
