Mgr. Jan Jiterský is a prominent figure in Czech education—a teacher, school principal, and curriculum expert who has long linked his professional career with the development of quality education. In Veliš, in the Bohemian Paradise, he co-founded the highly successful Bodlák a Pampelišky Primary School, where he served for many years as principal and shaped its distinctive environment based on a thoughtful curriculum, respect for children, and close ties between the school and the community.
From 2021 to 2025, he worked at the Ministry of Education as Head of the Curriculum Department and chaired the Expert Panel for the revision of the Framework Educational Programme for Primary Education (RVP ZV). In this role, he applied deep knowledge of school practice, a cultivated approach to education policy-making, and the ability to formulate clear concepts with real impact on teaching. He enjoys connecting expert know-how with the practical experience of schools and supports pedagogical approaches that strengthen teacher professionalism and meaningful pupil learning. His professional motto is: “Education should be something everyone involved enjoys, not just survives.”
