Interdisciplinary Art with Petr Nikl
Thematic Art Program for Primary Schools
When: spring 2026
A visit to the studio of Petr Nikl offered a unique insight into the world of interdisciplinary art, where visual creation naturally intertwines with music, literature, theatre, movement, and elements of drama education. The program presented the work of a versatile artist for whom not only the final artwork is important, but above all the process of discovery, experimentation, and play. The children encountered unconventional musical instruments and sound objects created directly in the artist’s studio, expanding the idea of what can be considered part of music and visual expression. The program also included a playful puppet and performative performance enriched with sound and visual elements, which naturally drew participants into the unfolding action. Interactive moments allowed the children to actively engage with sound, voice, and small objects, becoming part of a shared creative space. At the end, there was time to view selected works and take part in an open discussion. The entire experience offered an inspiring example of how different artistic disciplines within the educational field of Art and Culture can be interconnected into a living, naturally flowing experience.
